Renaissance Publishing Group, LLC, was
founded in 1997 by publisher and editor, Nancy Trahan, who first
produced Baton Rouge House
& Home Magazine from the modest surrounds of her personal
home. From the start, the magazine utilized high-quality, full-color
printing and exceptional imagery by professional photographer
Chipper Hatter. In 2003, the publication branched into Acadiana and
changed its name. With professional offices in both Baton Rouge
and Lafayette, the publication is now
known to readers as House
& Home.

In 1998, the company produced the
first in a series of hardbound books titled The Homes of Baton Rouge.
Subsequent volumes were produced in 1999 (Volume II) and 2001 (Volume III). Each of the
three books features interior and exterior photographs of 18 - 20
select homes that were previously featured in Baton
Rouge House & Home Magazine.
Again featuring
Hatter’s photography in full-color format, the limited-edition
books have become locally popular among collectors who share an
interest in south Louisiana’s enviable home
style.
In 2003, Renaissance Publishing Group,
LLC teamed up with the Capital Region Builders Association (CRBA) to
publish a 32-page guide for the organization’s annual Habitat Home & Garden
Show, as well as The
Remodeling Guide, a full color booklet and how-to reference
guide for homeowners who desire to remodel a home.
Because of its high visibility in the
local marketplace, House
& Home is uniquely situated to help promote charitable
events and fundraisers, such as the Acadian Home Builders
Association’s annual Parade
of Homes; the Junior League’s Hollydays and Tinsels & Treasures; and
the Hospice Foundation’s biennial Decorators’ Show Home. Also,
House & Home is a
proud five-year sponsor of the Ponds for Charity Tour, which
benefits the Woman’s Hospital Foundation.
